BETHESDA, Md. – Webb Simpson is not the only top player who may trade a start at the year’s third major championship for family duties.

Jason Day told GTC on Thursday that his wife, Ellie, is expecting the couple’s first child on July 11, just days before the British Open at Royal Lytham & St. Annes.

Day said that Ellie is far enough along in her pregnancy that doctors are considering inducing labor next week, but if that doesn’t happen the Australian is prepared to skip the Open Championship.
