A pair of sites in northern California, near the U.S. Open site of Olympic Club, hosted U.S. Open sectional qualifying. There were a total of 129 players vying for seven spots in the season's second major championship. Notables advancing included 2009 Senior PGA champion Michael Allen (Lake Merced) .
