Final-round play at the Wyndham Championship has resumed at soggy Sedgefield Country Club.
Despite overcast skies and early rain showers Monday, play got under way at 9 a.m. ET, as expected, with Sergio Garcia holding a one-shot lead at 15 under par. The final group of Garcia and Bud Cauley was on the fifth hole.
Sedgefield has been drenched by more than 2 inches of rain since Saturday evening, and players will continue to use lift, clean and place conditions in the final round.
“The golf course has no standing water,” Mark Russell, vice president of rules and competition for the PGA Tour, said Monday on “Morning Drive.” “It’s soft, the greens are perfect, and there’s not a breath of wind. I can’t imagine somebody not shooting a low round this morning.”
