PITTSFORD, N.Y. – Cristie Kerr withdrew from Wednesday’s pro-am at the Wegmans LPGA Championship to rest an ailing right elbow/arm.

Kerr is managing tendinitis and decided to rest to get ready for Thursday’s start of the year’s second major championship in women’s golf. Players are allowed to withdraw from one LPGA pro-am per year without penalty.

Kerr was forced to withdraw from Solheim Cup singles with tendinitis in her right wrist near the end of 2011 season and concede her match to Karen Stupples. Kerr’s management team said the tendinitis appeared to have migrated to the elbow last year but it’s unclear if the current ailment is directly related.
