It’s likely that when the LPGA signed on for its first-ever event in the Bahamas, the Pure Silk-Bahamas LPGA Classic, tournament organizers expected a week of sunny skies with breathtaking island scenery.
Instead, with the inaugural event slated to begin Thursday, organizers have received rain – and lots of it. According to reports, the course at Paradise Island received more than 12 inches of rain Tuesday night, washing out Wednesday’s pro-am.
