RANCHO MIRAGE, Calif. – Na Yeon Choi has a big problem if she wins the Kraft Nabisco.

She may need a life preserver if she has to take the leap into Poppie’s Pond.

“I don’t know how to swim,” said Choi, three shots off the lead. “I’m very scared of the water, because I had a very bad experience when I was young.

“Actually, I told my caddie last year if I win, I can’t jump in the water. He said `You have to jump in the water.’ I can’t.”

Choi said she was 4 or 5 when she nearly drowned in a lake.

“I almost died and my father saved me,” she said.

Choi said if she wins, she believes she’ll get herself to make the leap.
