BETHESDA, Md. – A week after turning pro, Patrick Cantlay took another step into the play-for-pay world, signing an endorsement deal with Titleist.
Cantlay and Titleist were expected to announce the deal next week and there are few details, but at Congressional this week the former UCLA standout had a Titleist staff bag and the company’s logo is on his hat.
Cantlay, who missed the cut last week at the Travelers Championship in his first event as a professional, signed with Mark Steinberg, Tiger Woods’ manager with Excel Sports Management, and announced last week that he’d already penned an endorsement deal with Travis Mathew.
As a PGA Tour non-member he has four remaining sponsor exemptions to earn enough money to qualify for special temporary status ($411,943) and unlimited exemptions.
