- Star Attraction
Masters champion Bubba Watson is sure to be the star attraction in this week’s Zurich Classic. His title defense begins tomorrow alongside Steve Stricker and last year’s runner-up Webb Simpson.
- Daly’s In
John Daly is a late entry into the Zurich Classic field as a sponsor’s exemption. The exemption was previously slated for Boo Weekley, but he withdrew due to medical reasons.
- New WGC Site
The WGC-HSBC Champions is changing venues this year. The tournament moves from Sheshan International in Shanghai to the Olazabal Course at Mission Hills in Guangdong, China. The tournament begins November 1st.
- Open Millions
The R&A reports it has spent $16 million to toughen up its rotation of Open Championship hosts. This year’s venue, Royal Lytham and St. Annes, will play 181 yards longer than it did in 2001.
