The PGA Tour has a new No. 1 money man.
Scottie Scheffler’s $10 million Tour Championship victory pushed him to $130,390,661 on the Tour’s career earnings list, moving well past Tiger Woods’ mark of $120,999,166.
Woods had held the top spot for more than a quarter of a century, since Feb. 13, 2000.
Scheffler passed Rory McIlroy for No. 2 on the list a few weeks ago when he won the FedEx St. Jude Championship.
McIlroy, who finished T-4 at the Tour Championship with six other players, just narrowly missed getting back to No. 2 and now will have to wait until his next PGA Tour event to bump Woods to No. 3 on the career money list. He would have passed Woods for second spot if he had finished solo fourth or better in Atlanta.
Rounding out the Tour’s top five career earners are a pair of 46-year-old veterans, Justin Rose and Adam Scott.
Rose finished T-18 at the Tour Championship, earning just under half a million dollars for his work at East Lake this week. The highlight of his week was making an ace on the par-3 9th hole during Sunday’s final round — his fourth career hole-in-one.
Scott knocked Justin Thomas from the No. 5 money spot finishing T-11 this week at 10.
