J.T. Poston and Ryan Gerard couldn’t shake each other at the 50th Memorial Tournament this week. After 72 holes, the two went to a playoff which Poston won by sinking a three-and-a-half foot birdie putt on the 18th hole.
Here’s how the $20 million purse was paid out at the PGA Tour’s seventh signature event, the Memorial Tournament.
Alex Fitzpatrick told reporters after shooting a 7-under 65 in the final round at Muirfield Village that his driver broke in his bag on the 13th hole on Thursday and that he had to rely heavily on his 3-wood throughout the event.

Two female fans got a selfie with Rory McIlroy on the 17th hole at Muirfield Village on Saturday right after it was announced there’d be a delay in third round play. One of the fans told McIlroy he should be knighted for letting them past security and taking the time to take the picture.
Muirfield Village Golf Club saw a pair of storms come through Saturday, suspending the third round of the Memorial once in the morning and once in the afternoon. Play will resume Sunday.
On the 17th green, Rory McIlroy heard that his third round at the Memorial Tournament would be interrupted again. McIlroy was on the first hole earlier Saturday when storms suspended play for an hour and 40 minutes. The second delay is still ongoing.
A second weather suspension has paused Round 3 at Jack’s Place with Ryan Gerard and J.T. Poston tied for the lead through five holes.
